What is your natural disposition?

Twenty years ago, I was still hopping from job to job, looking for the right job for me. The place where I would feel completely at home and could develop further. Where my qualities would be appreciated and my contribution valued. I was looking for meaning in my job. The click that would tell me "this is you", "this suits you". I looked for it outside myself, because I didn't know it inside, couldn't find it or because I simply overlooked it from my perfectionist tendencies.

I had no vision of what I was really good at, let alone dealing with my "raison d'être". I had too many interests, too little life experience and was too busy to stop for a moment and listen to what my heart and soul were telling me. Before I realised this, I was many years further on; rich in experience. I had suffered the necessary disappointments and transformed the instructive moments into great idealism and an enormous inner drive to do what I am doing now. Some people know from childhood what they want to do with their lives, others (like me) take a whole lifetime to do it.

Your natural ability goes beyond your talents, competencies or core qualities and beyond yourself. It concerns your contribution to the world. Your unique ability to put into the world what you were literally and figuratively born to do. Your personal raison d'être or reason for living. Recognisable by a clearly present gut feeling, a feeling of constantly being in a flow. When you live your natural disposition, you live from your strength, which makes it easy to face setbacks and boosts your perseverance. All energy flows your way, making you feel stable and confident; knowing you are doing what you are supposed to do.

Do you know what your natural disposition is? And if you know, do you live by it or do you make concessions out of a need for security, continuity or something else? Or did you find your magical task via a diversion and learn the most extraordinary life lessons along the way? I am curious to hear your story and invite you to share it here. For inspiration for yourself and perhaps for others too.

Best wishes, Wanda
