Self-pollution

We cannot escape it. The world is getting more and more polluted and man is the main cause. Oil spills and excessive natural violence are the order of the day. What is happening to our earth? What is about to happen to us?
I wonder if there is a relationship between how we treat ourselves and how we subsequently treat the world. It is not for nothing that the Bible says "treat others as yourself".

Because if you can't treat yourself lovingly, how on earth do you treat your environment? For example, how many harmful things do you say to yourself during the day? Have you ever counted them? Just keep track for a week of the negative, critical, hindering thoughts you have about yourself. You will be amazed!

We down-to-earth, performance-oriented, perfectionist doers, in fact, do ourselves an awful lot of damage by how we tend to think about ourselves. Something we have become enormously adept at during our lives. Classic little voices in the back of our heads, making it very clear to us "I can't do that", "who is waiting for me", "how stupid of me", "I'm ugly", "if only I was more like...." and I could go on for hours. All time bombs, of which we are normally unaware, but which can cause us great harm in the long run, via a downward spiral.

After all, what you think is you and your motivation determines your actions. Therefore, let's start thinking positive thoughts about ourselves, then we will automatically do our bit to gradually improve the world. Improve the world, one person a time.
What does your inner critic have to tell you? And more importantly, do you think it is right? I invite you to share your harmful thoughts here, as a first step towards a more conscious, empty head. For inspiration for yourself and others.

In light & love,

Wanda
